Today we write to you with the heaviest of hearts, as our baby Gavin has left us for the last time to be with God, the man who will cure him for all of eternity. Right up until the end, our little man would not and did not give in. He fought and fought but eventually the disease proved too much for his little body. Shannon and I would like to send our hearts out to each and every one of you who stood bedside us throughout this entire journey. Words can not express our gratitude and love for all of you. Today I want everyone to look around them and see how special and how lucky they are for what they have… friends, family, children, because as you may take some of those things for granted, tomorrow they may not be there to hold close to you.
Gavin Paul Myers managed to change a whole community and band them together with only a smile and a hug. To me, he is and always will be the biggest, strongest man that I know. At the age of only 6 months, Gavin had literally 1000’s of people wrapped around his finger. He endured many hardships in his short little life but came out of every one of them with a smile. And as we sit here today sad as can be, just a few weeks after his 1st birthday, we know that heaven has just called one of the best little angels that it possibly could have home, and for that we are the happiest and proudest parents in the world!
Visiting hours will be Sunday, June 29th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and Monday 11 am – 1pm at Tomon’s Funeral Home in Ellport, with the funeral following at Camp Run U.P. Church in Fombell. We love and thank everyone for everything,
Rick and Shannon

Message from The Myers Family:  We are so overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of love and support we are receiving.  We are cherishing every moment with our sweet baby Gavin and spirited Madison together with us and appreciate the support you are providing us through donations, prayers and words of comfort. We are truly blessed by all of you.

This website is dedicated to the health and recovery of Gavin Paul Myers, who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma at the age of 5 months on November 17, 2007. He is in Stage 4 of this rare form of cancer and is undergoing aggresssive chemotherapy treatments and blood transfusions in an attempt to save his life.

Gavin’s health insurance only covers a fraction of the mounting costs needed to see him through the road to recovery. Rick and Shannon Myers, Gavin’s daddy and mommy, need your help. To donate to the Baby Gavin Myers Fund, please click here.

Please visit this website often for updates and information about Gavin and his medical condition. If you are unable to make a donation to Gavin’s Fund, please feel free to send a comment of support on this site, and remember him and his family in your prayers.

Gavin is a determined, playful, happy bundle of joy in our lives who - with your help and prayers - will grow up to be an amazing young man.
